Namo Laxmi and Saraswati Yojana 2025: After announcement of the budget from the central government, State governments are also presenting their state budgets for the session of 2025. The Finance Minister of Gujarat Kanubhai Desai Announced the budget of Gujarat state on 2 February 2024 in the Gujarat Legislative Assembly. Government is responding a large portion of the budget to promote education and focusing on increasing girl education in the state.
Minister have also announce two latest schemes for girl students in the Gujarat state while presenting the finance budget of Gujarat. Namo Lakshmi scheme and Namo Saraswati schemes are launched in the budget to provide financial assistance to the girl students in the state. The Namo Saraswati scheme is launching to increase enrollment of girl students in Science stream in the state so it will enable them to Build their career in the science streams including engineering, Technology etc. Apart from the Namo Saraswati scheme government of Gujarat has also announced about launching the Namo Lakshmi scheme.
It is launched to increase the enrollment of girl students in secondary Education. The secondary education is start from class 9th and goes 12th onward. All the above schemes are launched to support the Mission School of Excellence 2.0.

Gujarat Girls Scholarship Scheme 2025
The Gujarat government will release the fund of 50000 rupees for each girl under the Namo Lakshmi scheme. All the girls who are studying in class 9th and 10th will get 10000 yearly and 15000 yearly will be provided to the girl students of 11th and 12th class in the state. So all over 50000 will be spent by the government to enroll and encourage girl students to get Secondary Education.
Apart from this girls who are pursuing science stream in 11th and 12th class will get additional benefits of Namo Saraswati scheme also. However according to the officials, girls will receive the financial assistance of Namo Lakshmi scheme on monthly basis in their bank account where 9th and 10th class students will receive 500 rupees monthly and 11th and 12th class students will receive 750 rupees monthly.
However the rest of the amount will be send to the bank account after completing their class. So the scheme will not be combined any other welfare scheme or scholarship in the Gujarat state but will be provided as additional financial assistance which will help them to afford the cost of education at secondary level.
Beneficiaries of Namo Laxmi Yojana & Namo Saraswati Yojana
Government will provide the financial assistance of the Namo Lakshmi scheme to all the girl students who are studying in 9th to 12th class in any government school in the state. Only those girls who have completed 7th and 8th class from any government school in the Gujarat state and currently enrolled in 9th to 12th class will get direct benefit.
Apart from the Government schools, government aided schools and private schools will also be included in this scheme. While students have to show their family annual income to get eligible for this scheme and the annual income should not be more than 600000.

Budget for the Namo Lakshmi Scheme
The finance minister of Gujarat has confirmed that state has reached the target of universal enrollment in primary education in the state. Now they are coming to achieve enrollment in Secondary Education also under Mission School of Excellence 2.0.
The state government will release the budget of 1250 crore rupees for this scheme in the year of 2024 and 25. It will cover approximately 10 lakh girl students in the state who are studying in class 9th to class 12th. Gujarat government has released a large portion of budget for education. They will spend approximately 55,114 crore Rs in the state for all sectors of education including technical education, medical, School Education etc.
